Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers are two picturesque villages on the banks of Newton Creek, a creek which leads into the Yealm River in South Devon. Noss Mayo in particular is a great place to visit with good walking along the Yealm River out to the coast. Photos from a beautiful Sunday in early July.
Lympstone is a small village on the east bank of the river Exe in East Devon. There is a small harbour and on the water front is the unusual clock tower called “Peters Tower”. The plaque on the clock states the following :- “This CLOCK-TOWER was erected in 1885 by W.H.PETERS of Harefield in Memory of his beloved wife MARY JANE to commemorate her kindness and sympathy for the poor of Lympstone.” The tower is now a holiday let.
