Botallack Head is on the West Cornwall coast and there is great scenery and many remains of mine workings including “The Crowns” mines on the cliffs, one of the most impressive sights in Cornwall. On the coast path east of Botallack is Levant Mine, the lighthouse at Pendeen Watch and sandy Portheras Cove. Photos from a sunny Saturday in early July.
Instow is a village on the east bank of the River Torridge in North Devon. There is a harbour and nice sandy beach with fine views across the estuary and across to the town of Appledore on the west bank of the river. Appledore is also worth a visit.
