Exmouth is a large seaside resort town in East Devon. There is a sandy beach which stretches from the harbour east to Orcombe Point. At low tide the beach can be walked from Orcombe Point to Sandy Bay. Photos from a fine Friday in May, beginning to feel like summer.
Stanbury Mouth is a pebble beach (with sand at low tide), a few miles north of Bude on the North Cornwall coast. Photos from Thursday afternoon.
Bude is a seaside resort town in North Cornwall. There is a super beach called Summerleaze Beach which at low tide stretches north to Crooklets Beach (shown in these photos) and further north to Northcott Mouth and Sandymouth. There is also good walking along the Bude Canal. Photos from a super Thursday in late May.
Bantham Sand is a popular surfing beach below the mouth of the River Avon in South Devon. There are fine views looking east to Bigbury and Burgh Island. There is also good coast path walking south to Broad Sand, Yarmouth Sand and Leas Foot Sand (as shown in these photos) and further south to Thurlestone and Hope Cove.
